El don del Espiritu Santo y su poder en la Iglesia de hoy del Dr. Gary Shogren pretende explorar la doctrina del Espiritu Santo.

Especificamente su persona, la relacion entre la iglesia apostolica y la de hoy en dia, sus dones y su obra en la formacion de la iglesia. Se lleva a cabo por medio de investigacion exegetica, teologica e historica.

Un libro academico pero enfocado a la divulgacion y a la aplicacion para la iglesia de hoy y sus retos eclesiales y tambien socio-culturales.

El libro se divide en tres grandes bloques:

*El espiritu de Dios en textos escogidos del Nuevo Testamento.
*El espiritu en la Iglesia patristica
*El espiritu en la Iglesia de America Latina

Contiene un apendice por Craig Keener sobre el libro Fuego extrao: el peligro de ofender al Espiritu Santo con adoracion falsa de John MacArthur. El libro no es un tratamiento completo del Espiritu y sus dones, sino un acercamiento academico a los temas principales con los que el creyente de hoy se enfrenta y vive en su camino espiritual personal y tambien colectivo a nivel eclesial en nuestra epoca actual. Un libro de critica academica constructiva, tal como nos tiene acostumbrados el Dr. Gary Shogren, sobre los temas mas importante y mas polemicos, como es la ausencia -o el extremo tambien- de la manipulacion de una de las personas de la Trinidad “el Espiritu Santo”.

The Gift of the Holy Spirit and His Power in the Church Today by Dr Gary Shogren, aims to explore the doctrine of the Holy Spirit.

Specifically his person, the relationship between the apostolic church and today’s church, his gifts and his work in the formation of the church. It is carried out through exegetical, theological and historical research.

An academic book but focused on the dissemination and application for today’s church and its ecclesial and also socio-cultural challenges

The book is divided into three main blocks:

*The Spirit of God in selected texts of the New Testament.
*The Spirit in the Patristic Church
*The Spirit in the Latin American Church
*Appendix: Craig Keener, A Review of John MacArthur, Strange Fire: The Danger of Offending the Holy Spirit with False Worship.

The book is not a complete treatment of the Spirit and his gifts but a scholarly approach to the major issues that today’s believer faces and lives with in his personal spiritual journey and also collectively at the ecclesial level in our present age.
